Love the concept, not as practical as I thought : Baby Jogger 2011 City Mini Single Stroller, Black/Black
I wanted a universal stroller that I could throw in the trunk to go to the mall, park, and everywhere in between. I read many reviews and was torn between the City Mini and BOB revolution.
I really liked how the city mini was much lighter than the BOB. It was really easy for me to carry both my baby and stroller up the stairs at the same time. I would not have been able to do this with the BOB.
The one handed fold of the city mini is nice. I could fold the stroller while holding my baby. However, the BOB is just one more step and I usually put my baby in the car seat before putting the stroller away.
Th city mini has a sturdier canopy. It has two large peek-a-boo windows with easy to use velcro straps. The BOB canopy is not as nice, but sufficient and comparable in size.
I have an older BOB revolution, so the back is not as sturdy and supportive as the 2011 city mini. However, comfort and support can be easily enhanced with the right accessories.
My 10 week old could easily and comfortably fit in the seat when using the snuzzler. I needed to use the car seat (with adapter) with the BOB.
The BOB has rear-wheel shocks, larger wheels, and pneumatic tires. I had no problems pushing the stroller through non-mowed grass, mud, or gravel. The city mini only has front-wheel suspension and the tires look like they will wear easily. I could push the city mini through non-mowed grass, mud, or gravel, but I prefer to avoid it if possible. One major issue I had with the city mini is that the wheels would get stuck if I did not hit a curb ramp straight on (unless it was very low). I had no problems with the BOB and the BOB could go up any curb ramp at any angle.
The basket underneath are about the same size. However, I could not easily access the basket on the city mini due to the stroller frame. I had to squash my small diaper bag through the side to use it at all. I have a little better luck with the BOB basket.
The city mini is much more compact when folded down and has a latch. The BOB is a little bulkier and you need to use the leash to secure the stroller.
I love how the city mini is lightweight, easy to fold, compact size when folded, and cute. It's a great stroller for everyday use and can easily handle some strolls through the neighborhood (I wouldn't use it frequently on trails). However, I ended up going with the BOB stroller. I needed a stroller that could handle all the curb ramps in my neighborhood which is very important when crossing busy streets.
